Back in 2009, when Bukit Jalil was still quiet and growing, a small dream took shape: to build a kopitiam where everyone feels at home, even on their first visit. With simple tables, old-style kopitiam chairs, and the smell of kaya toast each morning, Friendship Coffeeshop opened its doors. It wasn’t fancy — just warm smiles, honest food, and a belief that: “A good cup of coffee can start a friendship.”

🌿 Early Days (2009–2013)

The first customers were neighbours, joggers, families, and workers around the area. Soon, people started recognising each other. Conversations began. Friendships formed. The locals joked: “Sit here long enough, sure make new friend one.” That became the soul of the place.

☕ Growing With Bukit Jalil (2014–2019)

As the neighbourhood developed, the kopitiam grew too. New dishes were added, regular customers became like family, and the shop earned a reputation for being a warm corner where everyone belonged. Couples had their first dates here. Students studied here. Neighbours became lifelong friends.

🚚 A New Chapter — Moving to a Bigger Home (End of 2023)

By 2023, Friendship Coffeeshop had outgrown its original space. The seats were always full, parking was a headache, and customers kept asking for more tables. At the end of 2023, the shop moved to a new, bigger location — brighter, more comfortable, and with easier parking. The move wasn’t just about space; it was about continuing the promise made in 2009: To be a gathering place for everyone. Even in the new location, the heart of the shop remained the same — familiar faces, warm greetings, and food that tastes like home.

🏡 Friendship, Then & Always (2024–Today)

Today, Friendship Coffeeshop stands as one of Bukit Jalil’s earliest and most beloved neighbourhood kopitiams. Trends change, but its mission stays: “Good food. Good coffee. Good company.” At Friendship Coffeeshop, there are no strangers — only friends we haven’t met yet.
